Sara Fenn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Science Education and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies. She is currently enrolled in a Master's program at Troy University to obtain certification in Instructional Leadership and Administration. As Mrs. Fenn’s assistant principal of Admiral Moorer Middle School (AMMS), I have witnessed firsthand as she exercises her wonderful leadership abilities. This is evident as she is responsible for the following clubs and/or organizations: Miss AMMS Pageant, student council, yearbook, technology. In addition, she was named Teacher of the Year for AMMS and Secondary Teacher of the Year for Eufaula City Schools.
She has taught 7th grade social studies in the past. Currently, she teaches an exploratory class for which she designed the curriculum. This class is a technology-based class where students create a career profile to assist them in becoming college and career ready. Mrs. Fenn's students are actively engaged in chatting with her on a website regarding activities that they have been involved with during their class. She has even created a mechanism by which donors can contribute donations via the computer so that she can purchase flash drives for all of her students. Despite the limited resources that are available for this new class, she is indeed an innovative teacher who facilitates the use of technology in a 21st Century classroom. I highly recommend her to be recognized as Teacher of the Month. |
